Mary's second husband was a really bad investment in storyline which served nothing to advance her character growth or advance the survival of Downton. To keep the husband, he must be worth something to advance the story. Fellowes screwed that one up bigtime. The Wall Street crash of '29 would either show the resilience of the Levinsons or their fall and needs to be addressed. The rise of Edith as a woman of influence in publishing would be a good one to highlight as the Crawley grandchildren are growing up to a coming war against the backdrop of the King's abdication crisis. Also a sweetened maturity of the sisters' relationship would be a better launching pad than a continuation of their old rivalry. A good third movie must lop off all the useless bits of narrative to focus on the advancement of beloved characters, the family legacy and the coming generation of Crawleys.

Also, you didn't mention Lady Mary Josephine and Henry Talbot's daughter, Caroline Talbot, when mentioning the Crawley sister's offspring. In addition, Edith Violet Pelham, Marchioness of Hexham, announced her second pregnancy, so there should be several members of the next generation to write about, especially if they springboard into the future, let's say, the 1940s. Also, I would love to see Lady Rose and Atticus Aldridge's family return to Downton Abbey for the Summer season and meet each of their children. We have already met their beautiful daughter, Victoria Rachel Cora Aldridge, during a visit to Downton Abbey at a family Christmas celebration.

The relationship between Nathan and Elizabeth took much too long to develop, it has become just a formality at this point, there is no passion between them. Elizabeth is no longer my favorite character, her indecisiveness and melancholic behaviour is getting old, she doesn't deserve Nathan or Lucas after playing fiddle with their hearts. The passion between Elizabeth and Jack was unparalleled. I now watch it for the other of characters. Bring back Abigail all ready, want to see her relationship with Henry blossom! I love Mei Su and Mike! Such an endearing couple.

He took Her up in a hot air balloon He made lights in paper bags fly at Christmas. Nathan has never Done anything that come close to Romantic things for Elizabeth

I find it hard to believe we will have to wait until fall 2025 to see season 8 of Outlander. Don’t know if I will have any interest by then.
